Last week, a symbolic capsule-laying ceremony took place on the territory of the Altra (Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant) repository.
Construction work at this facility began in the spring - the site was prepared, and now the construction of technological buildings and engineering networks is actively underway.
This is one of the most unique infrastructure projects in Lithuania, requiring exceptional competencies. The repository will occupy a territory of 45 hectares, and the smooth construction process will be ensured by our team of qualified specialists.
The project carries a message about responsibility for the environment and future generations. Here, sustainability, safety and reliability are not only priorities, but also a duty for Lithuania.
After construction is completed, the repository will ensure safety for 300 years until the radioactive waste becomes harmless to the environment and humans - this long-term safety will be ensured by a multi-barrier engineering system.
